Through the years G. Tackaberry & Sons Construction has been a contributor to many community groups; both financially and in-kind with equipment, material and personnel. Area youth sports and community events are the main recipients of donations; but numerous local health organizations and civic groups are also assisted. A precedent started by the late Joan Tackaberry is continued today in giving special consideration to groups that are low-profile, but provide valuable services to the community. On average over 250 groups per year are assisted in some manner, some with multiple requests.

Examples of community involvement include extensive assistance to the Athens Lions Club for the presentation of the annual Steam Exhibition, which is the local Lions main fundraiser. Company equipment and personnel are actively involved in preparing the grounds and presenting displays. The company frequently supplies floats and trucks for local parades and events with the assistance of employees donating their time. The Tackaberry antique truck collection is often seen at events throughout the area. Local schools and parks have received sand and pea stone for playground use, either free or at a discount. Community and school gardens have also received material free of charge for initial setup.
